Resa Groff

About the Artist

I am a painter, creator, observer and instructor. I chose to follow my passion in college and learn more about what I can do with my art.  I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Texas Tech University in 2004 and continued my education at Florida State University where I received my Master's of Fine Arts in 2007.

During the course of my MFA, I worked under the curator and preparator of the FSU Museum of Fine Arts and developed my skills in gallery curating, lighting, measuring, and maintenance. I was a part of a co-op gallery by the name of South of Soho in the Fine Arts District of Tallahassee and the MFA student gallery; Big Bend Contemporary. My managerial skills were further developed while running my own space, Red Door Gallery, in San Antonio where I was allowed to act as my own curator.

In the Summer of 2007 after my graduation I took an internship position at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach, Florida honing my public relations and marketing skills through donor interactions and analysis of public exposure based on social media. I also contributed my graphic design expertise to their seasonally published magazine.

I am an award-winning artist active in Denver's art scene. I am currently represented in Colorado Arts Center in the Arts District on Santa Fe in Denver, Colorado. I engage myself in the community and volunteer my time at museums and galleries around Denver.
